Maintenance Supervisor/Manager

Job No: 171537
Location: Jamberoo, NSW

  • Are you an experienced maintenance officer, looking for something different?
  • Join one of NSW's most renowned tourism brands at a family-owned and operated water park!
  • Enjoy an attractive salary circa $90,000-$120,000, and a host of awesome employee perks!

Jamberoo Action Park is a unique family-owned and operated water park in Jamberoo, NSW. Conveniently located with Illawarra on one side, and the South Coast on the other, we are also home to one of the first waterslides in Australia, originally gold coin-operated, it opened in 1981!

Due to our hilly location, we are able to collect our own water that we treat onsite, making us Australia’s only net 0 water usage park! We are open 150 days out of the year, across 8 months, meaning we’re able to achieve a great work/life balance during our off season.

We are looking to welcome a full-time Maintenance Supervisor/Manager to our team, based out of the park in Jamberoo, NSW.

About the Opportunity

Our maintenance team has both those that focus on rides and park maintenance and specialists who focus on our water treatment plant maintenance. As our maintenance supervisor/manager, you will lead our park-focused maintenance staff.

Reporting to our senior Maintenance Manager, and as a member of a busy and varied Maintenance Team, you would be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the park's rides, machinery, plants and equipment.

This will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Leading and mentoring more junior maintenance staff, including ensuring staff are accurately scheduled;
  • Carrying out daily inspections and preventative maintenance of all rides and attractions;
  • Ensuring that all rides and attractions are operating as per the manufacturers’ guidelines and the Company Procedures;
  • Diagnosing issues or breakdowns in order to effectively and efficiently provide a solution and timeline;
  • General facility maintenance, servicing and up-keep of all company machinery and plants;
  • Major maintenance and repair works during the off-season;
  • Assist with Company projects and developments, including the installation of new attractions; and
  • Ensuring all documentation and maintenance logs are kept up to date and meet statutory guidelines.

As our maintenance supervisor/manager, you will be a leader within our organisation, and if you have the skills and experience, you can step up to our Senior Maintenance Manager role in the near future.

To Be Successful

If you're a strong problem solver, keen to learn new skills and flexible enough to shift between a variety of responsibilities, Jamberoo Action Park wants to hear from you!

A minimum certificate in Mechanical Engineering or significant experience in a Fitting and Turning role will be imperative to your success, with the park keen to hear from people with a broad range of relevant experiences. You'll need a strong eye for detail and an analytical mindset to meet the challenge of identifying and resolving a range of faults, with a commitment to high-quality work and proactive problem-solving.

Supervisory experience is preferred; however, as long as you’re keen to lead, can communicate effectively, and are able to bring out the best in your team, we want to hear from you. As our Maintenance Supervisor, you will be skilled in understanding each person's strengths and areas of development, and bringing everyone together to achieve common goals.

Please note: You'll need a current driver's license, and be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check and National Police Check.

About Jamberoo Action Park

Jamberoo Action Park is NSW’s largest family-owned and operated water theme park, a favourite for people across the region and one of the most recognised tourism brands in the state. Just an hour from Sydney, the park is set between the mountains and the sea, with a back-drop of the spectacular Illawarra escarpment.

Established over 40 years ago, out of a small dairy farm, the park has changed substantially over the years, growing from a single chair lift to over a dozen world-class rides and attractions. Despite their growth, they've kept the things that made them great - a real passion for entertainment, a commitment to providing something for everyone, and the sense of ownership and teamwork that comes from being a local, family-owned business.
